I personally have strange passions. Or at least I think I have strange passions. They may not even be "passions" but simply things that make me happy. Either way I'm going to keep typing. I love traveling. I love everthing about traveling, the crazy schedules, the grueling walking tours and even the frantic airport terminals. I think that what makes me truly love traveling is the crazy disbelief you feel when you get on a plane in one place and end up hundreds or thousands of miles away, somewhere completely new. I also get butterflies when I think about all of the people who have stood where I am standing. I think about their lives and what they wore and what they were thinking. For instance, when i went to Rome and stood in the Roman Forum I was overwhelmed with the fact that thousands of years ago people's lives revolved around this place and the people that your read about in textbooks stood right where I was standing. So I guess you could say one of my passions is exploring the world and standing where history was made.
Another "passion" of mine is reading and watching books or movies that have incredibly inspirational or cheesy endings. I don't know if this makes me a dreamer or just detached from reality but I absolutely live for happy endings. I am almost always guaranteed a happy ending while watching a football movie. When the clock is down to two seconds and the quarterback (with an amazing story of perserverance and love) throws the ball into the endzone and the other guy ( I don't keep up with the logistics) catches it, I am soooo happy. I don't know if happy endings qualify as passions but I do know that they can make even the most stressful day that much better.
My "passions" may not be passions like playing a sport or studying astrology but they are things in my life that I have grown to love and appreciate. The perfect book for me would be one with a sense of an adventure and a good old drive into the sunset.
